“Operation Angel” 2013

Over the past few weeks, Fun-Keys at St Marys Richmond and Hudswell, 1st Richmond Beavers and all of Richmond C of E Primary School have been busy making angels in preparation for Christmas services at St Mary’s Church.

They have been using something called a Big Shot which is a mini press with a die cutter, which when you turn the handle produces a flat doily like piece of card. Ā You then push out lots of little holes to make a lacy effect, decorate, personalise and bend in to shape.

At school, a team of Year 6 girls have co-ordinated the process and have managed to get most students involved.

Known lovingly as Operation Angel, the plan was completed on Saturday evening by Scott, James, Andrew and Gillian, and the angels are now enjoying a lofty view between pillars and above the altar ready for their decorators to find them over the next few days at the various Christmas services coming up.

So if you made an angel, come and find it and enjoy seeing it amidst its friends! Ā And if you haven’t, it’s not too late – see Gillian (or if you’re at school find Mrs Lunn!

Thank you to everyone who has helped in any way.
